It's A.........

SHIM, still!  We will find out next time, which is April 28th, our one year wedding anniversary!  I thought that I was one week ahead of what I actually am (thought I was 15 weeks but I'm 14) so the ultrasound will be at week 18 to determine the sex.  I don't mind reliving the 14th week since the nausea is gone.  If I would have had to relive a week in the first trimester with the nausea, I would have fought for the earlier due date.

We heard the heartbeat today which was very exciting.  We both thought that it sounded slow for some reason.  It was of course way faster than ours, but slower than we had imagined.  The doctor smiled and said everything was fine.  We really like our doctor.  She is very calm and seems like she will be great in the delivery room.

When we asked her about a birth coach or doula (because several friends of mine recommended one),  she was not for this idea!  I read that doctors seem to be really enthaustic or not about doulas and she was not!  So, guess we aren't having a birthing coach.  When I first heard of a birthing coach I thought it would be really crazy having more than one person telling you what to do but after talking with some of our friends it sounded like a great idea.  I don't really care one way or the other so I guess we have our answer now.

Ah man...guess I can wait a few more weeks to hear if it's a he or a she. :) Your anniversary is a wonderful day to find out! Seeing that your doctor will be there to catch the baby as it comes out and that's about it (if anything like my sisters and sis-in-laws docs) the nurses do all of the work leading up to the actual birth so you should have a doula if you really want one. My sister-in-law is one if you change your mind, she has lots of experience. She'll be in on the births of my babies, I know that! LOL So glad to hear the morning sickness has passed as well. Take care, k? Love you!
